Quick Facts About Ballot Issue 6A

Let’s Get Our Fair Share!

Voting YES on 6A will unlock millions of dollars in state grants and other sources of outside funding for the South Adams County Water District (SACWSD). If passed, the funds will protect our water quality, invest in water system upgrades, address emerging contaminants, and enhance our future water supply.

Not a Tax Increase!

Voting YES on this TABOR exemption will NOT impose a new tax or raise taxes! 6A, if approved, merely allows the District to tap into funding (primarily state grants) it would otherwise be unable to receive because of TABOR limits.

This TABOR exemption is not a means to avoid refunding tax dollars!

While most local governments ask voters for TABOR exemptions to retain tax revenue that has been over-collected, SACWSD is NOT asking to retain a revenue surplus. Regardless of whether the ballot issue passes or fails, SACWSD will not have any surplus tax revenue to refund.
